After observing several court hearings, fifth-grade students from Shelley Berkley Elementary School visited District Court Judge Jerry Wiese with thoughtful and wide-ranging questions—including inquiries about the most challenging and most inconvenient cases he has presided over. Judge Wiese engaged the students with insight and candor, even addressing questions about the use of his gavel. The visit was part of a project led by Realtor Mike Kamer, offering students a firsthand look at the judicial system in action.
